Hi all, I need some help...
In my notes I have Effy discussing some films at the beginning of the semester, directed by Fritz Lang and Dziga Vertov.
I just recently purchased Man With a Movie Camera by Dziga Vertov, but I am finding it difficult to understand much about it, its not an easy one to grasp.
We spoke about this movie at the beginning of the semester with Effy, but i think I must of missed something.
Has anyone else seen it??
Here are some stills from the movie.

Hi Gonzolo, I watched Man With a Movie Camera last year when Effy mentioned it. While watching I was looking for the meaning behind it all and even started looking for 'hidden' messages but after talking to Effy I think, if I understood her correctly, she explained that it was really more about the technology behind it all, about what Vertov actually did with the camera in regard to challenging time and space. Hope this helps. I would like to hear from others too for their understanding of it. Yvonne Darburn. PS The Fritz Lang movie is Metropolis, Claire showed that to us in her last class.
Hi Gonzalo,
Why don't you read an article about Man With A Movie Camera at: www.25hrs.org/vertov.htm.
Also, an article about Vertov at: www.sensesofcinema.com/contents/
directors/03/vertov.html.
Cheers.
